HOW TO MANAGE MY ACCOUNT
You can access your library card account online to manage holds, view checkouts, renew items, and to update contact information.
To keep your account in good standing, overdue fines must be kept below:
- $5 to check out materials.
- $5 to use a computer.
LOG IN TO ACCOUNT
- Go to https://www.galwaypubliclibrary.org/> My Account (located in top right).
- Login with your library card number (no spaces) and password.
RENEW ITEMS
- Click My Account > Items Out.
- To renew, click on check box to left of item(s) > click Renew Selected Items or Renew All Items.
- After renewing, check due dates to make sure your items were renewed.
Note:
- Items will be renewed if renewals are available and there are no holds.
- Your physical and digital items checked out will display; you may need to click Refresh eContent to update the list.
- Digital content must be renewed or borrowed again through the corresponding content provider.
VIEW & MANAGE HOLD REQUESTS
- Click My Account > Requests.
- To cancel or postpone/reactivate a request, click check box to left of item(s) > click Cancel Selected or Postpone/Reactivate Selected Requests.
Note:
- When an item is available, the status will say Held and we will contact you via your preferred method.
- Digital content holds must be managed through the corresponding content provider.
VIEW FINES & FEES
- Click My Account > Fines & Fees.
Note:
- Fines can be paid at Circulation by cash, check, or credit/debit card.
- See note above regarding good standing.
- See Library Charges and Fees policy for details on fines.
Loan Period
- All new books, new audio books and periodicals are available for a two-week loan period.
- All non-new books are available for a four-week loan period.
- All non-new audio books are available for a four-week loan period.
- All new DVDs are available for a three-day loan period.
- All videotapes and non-new DVDs are available for a seven “open
- library day” loan period (days that the library is closed are not
- counted)
- Patrons may borrow up to 5 DVDs/videos/audio books per library card.
- Patrons may borrow up to 45 books and other print materials per library card.
- The library’s Hyde Museum Pass may be borrowed for one week and the pass covers reduced and free admission to the Hyde Collection and Museum in Glens Falls, NY.
Interlibrary Loans
- Patrons are encouraged to use the SALS online catalog and fill out request slips for interlibrary
loan materials. SALS interlibrary loans are free.
- Patrons will be notified by phone or email when the materials arrive. If the patron does not pick up the material within one week, it will be returned on the next SALS delivery day.
- Generally, interlibrary loan materials have a four-week loan period and are eligible for one four-week renewal period.
LOG OUT OF ACCOUNT
- Click My Account > Log Out.
